Plantu & Reza, Regards croisés

Plantu & Reza, Regards croisés

Plantu & Reza / Regards Croisés. A book to be published by Editions Gallimard on october 28th 2021. 80 unpublished works by Plantu and Reza, privileged witnesses of the events of recent decades, which bring their humanist gaze to the world, calling for peace and dialogue, Plantu and Reza have started a fruitful collaboration in recent years, following their desire to carry out work community, to marry their two views on the world and their modes of expression. They imagined nearly eighty works associating the drawings of one with the photographs of the other. These creations, commented by Plantu and Reza, are brought together in this work for the first time. We find subjects dear to the two artists: the rights of women and children, the environment, the upheavals of the world, the stakes of power and, of course, the defense of freedom of expression. In opening, a text by the writer and art critic Pierre Bongiovanni presents the unique work of these two keen observers and fervent pacifists. books

The laughter of the lovers

Exhibition The laughter of lovers an Afghan epic, an exhibition with • Le ciel des yeux by Reza • L’amère rosée by Roya Heydari • L’audace de la beauté by Fatimah Hossaini • La couleur pour survivre by Roshanak • Terres sombres by Naseer Turkmani • Wrong place? by Massoud Hossaini January 21 to April 2, 2022, Carré de Baudouin 121 rue de Ménilmontant 75020 Paris from Tuesday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday until 7:00 p.m. RESIST IN POETRY In August 2021, the whole world was sincerely moved by the Afghan tragedy, by the fate of the Afghan people, that of women and girls in particular, when the country was left to the Taliban. Emotion, mobilization for the Afghan “cause” as sincere as they were, they were chased away by other subjects… and disappeared from social networks, TV sets, newspapers, dinners in town. The ephemeral governs our posture in the world. And yet, the suffering is there, of those forced into exile, of those who remained in their country in daily terror. So what can we do so that our indifference does not deepen the wound that is already so acute? We found one answer among others with Town Hall of the 20th in Paris We have imagined an exhibition of six photographers (3 women and 3 men), in exile from their country, whose singular view of Afghanistan and the Afghan people we show around the work of the greatest Afghan poet and writer, Sayd Bahodine Majrouh. Reportage

Since 2013, the photographer Reza thoroughly explored Iraqi Kurdistan that remains relatively little known despite the key role it plays in the Middle East. He witnessed a country and people living on the tightrope between war and peace, balancing their history  with a desire for social and economic modernity, coping with the sorrows inflicted upon the Kurdish people and their steadfast hope for the recognition of their identity.
